Héctor Palomo

Hector is a founding partner of Palomo & Porras. He graduated from Rafael Landivar University in 2000 as an Attorney-at-Law and Notary. He obtained his Master's Degree in Intellectual Property at San Carlo de Guatemala University and has studied International Commerce at Santiago de Chile University.  Hector is a legal advisor to clients in the pharmaceutical, technological, cosmetics, beverages, and consumer products industries.  He is a member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), and since 2002, he has been an active member of the International Trademark Association.  For the term 2016-2017 he will be a member of the INTA's Enforcement Committee.

Throughout his career, Hector has been sought out for his counsel and advice from numerous high-profile organizations: he was an official advisor to the Ministry of Economy in free trade agreements negotiations; he  was a consultant to the Banco InterAmericano de Desarollo (BID) in state contracts matters; consultant to projects for the Ministry of Agriculture of Guatemala in the field of Biodiversity; and consultant at the Science and Technology National Council (supporting domestic inventors, among others.) Currently, he is a docent at Master's Degree level in Intellectual Property Law.
